Podcast Poster

Overview
This is a podcast poster that I created for a game show podcast, featuring quizzes on player's knowledge of pop culture topics. My role in this project encompassed conceiving the podcast concept, designing the poster artwork, and formulating questions for the players, as I also served as the host for this episode.

Process
Given the game show format of the podcast, I aimed to make the central element of the poster a buzzer. In the initial design, I incorporated an image of a generic buzzer and added a remote control logo to its facade. In version 1 of the poster, which I initially created, I retained the buzzer concept but transformed it into a CRT icon instead of a remote control. This change was motivated by our vision for the podcast to encompass a broader pop culture audience beyond just video games. Consequently, the final design underwent another alteration, evolving into a question mark icon resembling the "question block" from the Super Mario franchise, while still retaining the essence of a game show buzzer. To resonate with the podcast's lively and comedic tone, I opted for vibrant and bold colors in the design.

Challenges

Creating three-dimensional objects within a two-dimensional space posed a challenge for me. I had to experiment with various tools and devise innovative solutions to address issues as they arose. One notable challenge was aligning the shadows as intended. To overcome this, I imported the Illustrator file into Photoshop, where I manually erased and recreated the shadows to achieve the desired effect.
